A basic map of the city showing the street-grid pattern with the Texas Capitol at center and the University of Texas at top. An index below the map reveals the location of university buildings, churches, schools, city buildings, and even private residences. The map was published in the University of Texas Bulletin No. 218 (February 1912). Austin’s population at the time was about 30,000, while UT's enrollment in 2021 was 52,000.
