A decorative map of Flintshire, with inset plans of the city of Flint and St. Asaph, and an elevation of St. Winifred's Well (Holywell). The map is richly embellished with a compass rose, ships and sea monsters in the Irish Sea, in addition to the large strapwork cartouches, coat of arms and inset plans that distinguish Speed's county maps. This is an early edition with the imprint of John Sudbury and George Humbell at bottom right. English text on verso.

A nice impression on a sheet with a coat of arms watermark, light soiling, minor toning, and some show-through of engraving on verso. There is an archivally repaired centerfold separation at bottom and narrow margins, as issued.
