This handsome and intricate map of the province of Gelderland names several towns and cities and details roads, waterways, and the area's topography. A compass rose in the Eeemmeer orients the north to the right. The map is decorated with two sailing ships and an ornate title cartouche. There are three variants of this map, each with a different coat of arms in the title cartouche; this is the second variant, with the coat of arms of Zutphen to the right of the arms of Gelderland. French text on verso, published between 1638-43.

A crisp impression with contemporary outline color in the map and later color in the cartouches. There is light dampstaining along the edges of the map image and remnants of hinge tape on verso.
