Superb Dutch Bible map covering the region between the Mediterranean and the Persian Gulf, featuring the Garden of Eden located near the city of Babel. The strapwork title cartouche is flanked by scenes of Eve offering Adam the apple and the expulsion from paradise. In the sea beneath Cyprus is a scene of Jonah and the whale. A lovely, decorative map with the scale of miles featuring a figure of an old fisherman (the mark of Visscher). Dutch text on verso.

A nice impression, issued folding on a watermarked sheet, with some printer's ink residue, a bit of creasing along the centerfold, and marginal soiling. There are professional repairs to fold separations in the blank margins and the right and left margins have been professionally extended to accommodate framing.
