This beautifully engraved Italian map of ancient Turkey shows Cyprus, Rhodes, Lesbos, and other nearby islands. The terrain is dense with ancient place names and topographical detail. This is the first of two maps of the region in Mercurio Geografico, with the following map in the atlas presenting modern Asia Minor. A key at top right identifies bishoprics and archbishoprics, rivers, mountains, lakes, islands, and cities whose names correspond to the modern map. The title appears in a banner cartouche at top. Engraved by Francesco Donia.
