This uncommon small map of Madagascar was originally drawn by Benjamin Wright for Langenes' Tabularum Contractarum. This edition is from the rare English edition of Van Linschoten's "Discours of Voyages into Ye Easte & West Indies." The map shows detail of towns, surrounding islands and shoals. The interior is largely filled with mountains. North is oriented to the left. On a full sheet (7 x 11") with English text describing the island.
