A fine map of western Africa based upon the explorations of Prussian Otto Friedrich von der Groeben in 1682. The map covers the Sahara Desert, Niger River, coast of Guinea, Congo and Angola with good detail of the coastlines, mountains, forests, and rivers. The large pictorial cartouche shows a rescue and shipwreck off the coast of Guinea.
