This charming pictorial map by George Otto Hanft captures the Discovery period with the paths of important explorers delineated in the waters including Cabrillo, Drake and Viscaino. Numerous missions are located along the coast and several are illustrated. “Gold Rush Country 1849” is highlighted in color. Further decorated with classical elements including a strapwork title cartouche, compass rose with fleur-de-lis, and two sailing ships. Copyrighted by The Wyman Company and issued “Compliments of the Equitable Savings and Loan Association.”
