A. Lake Tahoe California - Nevada, by Gerald A. Eddy, dated 1957 (23.4 x 17.5"). This attractive and detailed bird's-eye view depicts the Lake Tahoe region, extending to Truckee, Reno, Virginia City and Carson City. The rugged topography of the region is presented with a three-dimensional quality and locates numerous ski areas, golf courses, casinos, mountain peaks, and the road network to access these recreational features. The verso is filled with related text and illustrations promoting the region. Issued by the Lake Tahoe-Sierra Chamber of Commerce. Condition: A colorful example, issued folding, with one short fold separation at left that has been closed on verso with archival tape. (A)
B. Sierra County California - Playground of the Sierra, by Phil Newberg, circa 1947 (21.4 x 16.6"). This pictorial map, printed in blue ink, presents the recreational opportunities in Sierra County, which is just to the north of Lake Tahoe. Playful illustrations in the map include fishing, skiing, hunting, horseback riding and more. The map is surrounded by related text and illustrations that continue on verso, which also includes nine illustrations of the "Gold Rush Days of '49." Condition: Issued folding with some very faint dampstains and a couple of tiny splits at the fold junctions. (B+)
