This detailed folio covers the Colorado Springs region and was part of the Geological Survey's project to make a complete geological atlas of the United States. There are a total of five maps with three covering the Front Range including topographical, geological, and structure section maps. The remaining two maps are larger folding maps (21.7 x 16.0") extending west from Colorado Springs to beyond Pikes Peak. The folio includes a 15-page "Description of the Colorado Springs Quadrangle" by George I. Finlay and two photographic plates. Produced under the direction of George Otis Smith. Elephant folio.
