This is Jansson's first map of Essex, with a strapwork distance scale cartouche and no coats of arms. It divides the county into Hundreds and shows cities, hills, forests, parks, villages, and more. London is prominently depicted at bottom left. There is a striking title cartouche at bottom right featuring Apollo with his lyre, Pan and his pan flute, and a putto. Sailing ships appear in the North Sea. Blank verso.
