Lovely map of the Metz Region, centered on Metz and the Moselle River Valley. Richly embellished in each corner with coats of arms, distance scales and a garland draped title cartouche. Latin text on verso, published between 1646-57.

A dark impression with full contemporary color, light offsetting, a bit of toning and soiling, and an old manuscript notation in brown ink in cartouche attributing the map to Hondius. Paper is thin along centerfold where the backstrap has been removed.
