This handsome map of Asia features nice detail of the countries from Nova Zembla and the Bering Strait in the north to Madagascar and Australia in the south. It is an update of Bonne's 1780 map of the continent. It shows a fairly accurate Alaskan coastline reflecting Cook's recent discoveries. The eastern coast of Australia bear's Cook's name of Nouvelles Galles Meridionale, and the Carolines have been accurately placed. The islands in the Indian Ocean are also well defined. Drawn by Herisson and engraved by Andre.

A nice impression with faint offsetting and a few minor spots.
