A highly detailed chart of the Bay of Bengal, stretching from Sri Lanka to the Strait of Malacca. There is excellent detail along the coastlines, particularly in the vicinity of Kolkata and the Ganges River delta. The chart features scores of soundings, shoals, anchorages, bays, and tiny islands along with the "best track" between various ports. Dated 1825 with corrections to 1844.

There is light soiling, several stains and pencil notations in the image, and a small chip at bottom with minor loss of border. An edge tear at left that extends 2" into the image has been closed on verso with archival tape.
