Decorative map of the western part of Africa extending from present-day Senegal to Angola. The interior is filled with information, mostly spurious, including the Nile originating in Zaire Lacus. A small herd of elephants roams the interior, and the map has a cartouche and scale of miles lavished with monkeys, a cheetah, natives, a lion and mer-people. There is a visible crack in the plate in the ocean. Blank verso.

A nice impression with light soiling and foxing, a couple of extraneous creases, an old tape stain at top center, and toning along the edges of the sheet.
