This splashy, bilingual pictorial map folds into a tourist's pamphlet published by "A Group of Hotelkeepers of Quebec and Gaspe Peninsula." It spans from the tip of Gaspe Peninsula west to the Laurentides. An inset at top left shows Quebec City in plan form. Charming illustrations fill the landscape, referencing the region's history, culture, and wildlife. Among the sites are Jacques Cartier planting the Cross of Gaspe, a Miꞌkmaq mission, New Brunswick lumbermen, General Montgomery's attack on Quebec in 1775, fishermen, caribou, moose, and bears. Portraits of notable figures, such as Louis XIII, Cartier, and Champlain, appear along the map's border. A legend in French identifies main roads, construction, railroads, golf clubs, airports, battlegrounds, and more. At top, a cartouche provides information about the ferry service between Riviere-du-Loup and St. Simeon. The verso includes a pamphlet cover in both English and French and numerous ads from the local hospitality industry.
