This stapled lot of Northern Pacific Railroad ephemera includes two examples of a delightful zoomorphic map printed on the versos of two customer letters dated 1897. Covering the western United States, the map superimposes an image of a Pointer showing the route of the railroad along its head, spine and tail. Text below the dog's image encourages the reader to "call on your nearest ticket agent" when you need a "Pointer." Included with the two maps are seven correspondence letters and 5 refund receipts.

The two maps are good with some color bleed-through from text on recto and some minor staple holes in the text below the maps. The other documents are very good with some occasional pencil notations.
