An attractive double-hemisphere map of the world by Jean Jacques Fillassier. A large Sea of the West is depicted above California, and an oversized and amorphous juts out into the Pacific Ocean. Australia is misshaped with both New Guinea and Tasmania connected to its coastline. New Zealand has only a single western coastline depicted, and a small piece of Antarctica below Tierra Del Fuego is noted as seen by Sir Francis Drake. An armillary sphere is neatly tucked in the cusp. Engraved by H. Godin.
