An attractive and uncommon double-page map of the state. Development is still primarily in the northern half of the state where settlement and a few railroads begin to fill in the map. The Florida Atlantic & Gulf Railroad extends from Jacksonville to beyond Tallahassee, the Florida Railroad extends from Fernandina to Cedar Keys, and a long path links Waldo to Charlotte Harbor. The southern tip is depicted in an inset on the same scale, with surveying work beginning to show along the coast of Dade and Monroe counties.

There is light toning along the top and bottom sheet edges, a small repaired centerfold separation at bottom, and a couple of edge tears confined to the blank margins that are archivally repaired on verso.
