A charming matching set of miniature maps. The world map depicts North America with a large sea protruding into the western coastline with two large lakes representing the Great Lakes. On the Americas map, North America contains a small cartouche covering the western coast with a note concerning the discoveries of Admiral de Fuentes. The map of Africa has a good amount of inland detail without the spurious cartography found on most maps of the eighteenth century. The Asian map provides a good view of the continental outline. The most interesting feature of this map is a huge region labeled Des Eleuths, The maps of Europe and France show the major political divisions.
