This very striking sea chart depicts the southern part of South America from the Rio de la Plata to Tierra del Fuego, showing the Straits of Magellan and Le Maire. The chart is embellished with a compass rose, rhumb lines, two sailing galleons, and a baroque-style title cartouche featuring putti. Three distance scales are enclosed in a simple cartouche at bottom right.
