Oriented with north to the left, this ornate chart details the coastline from Cape Blanco north to Cape Bojador, essentially covering the coast of present-day disputed territory of Western Sahara. The sea chart is arrayed with rhumb lines, two compass roses, and an attractive distance cartouche featuring a mermaid making a chart. The top right corner is decorated with a magnificent figurative cartouche featuring a hunting vignette and flanked by merchants and warriors.
