A large and magnificent sea chart that details the coastline from the Cape of Good Hope to Cape Correntes in Mozambique and includes the southern tip of Madagascar. The interior is blank with all details along the coastal areas. The chart includes two insets: "Plan du Port Natal" (now known as Durban) and "Plan de la Baie Delagoa ou Lorenzo Marques" (now Maputo, the capital of Mozambique). The seal of the Depot de la Marine is a bottom right. Engraved by Chassant with lettering by J. M. Hacq. A large and very striking chart printed on two joined sheets.

A nice impression on very clean and bright sheets with modern coloring. There are some gray shadows along the left edge of the sheet that are caused by our scanner and do not appear on the map itself.
