If you are interested in the Golden Age of Dutch cartography, this is an essential reference. This set includes the first five volumes of Koeman's original six-volume reference, a "Bibliography of terrestrial, maritime and celestial atlases and pilot books, published in the Netherlands up to 1880." Koeman published these volumes from Amsterdam between 1967 and 1985. (The supplemental sixth volume was published more than a decade after the initial five-volume run.) The volumes contain descriptions with illustrations of Ortelius' "Theatrum Orbis Terrarum"; the "Epitome", "Caert-Thresoor" and "Atlas Minor"; De Jode's "Speculum Orbis Terrarum"; the Atlases of the XVII Provinces; and the Low Countries up to c.1650. Vol. I, 1967, 377 pages. Vol. II, 1969, 549 pages. Vol. III, 1969, 220 pages. Vol. IV, 1970, 519 pages. Vol. V, 1971, 287 pages. Hardbound in publisher's blue cloth with titles printed on front covers and spines. A most valuable reference with Dutch and English text.

Contents are generally very good. In Volume IV, the hinges are starting and there are sections of lightly toned text. Covers of all volumes have light shelf wear and minor stains.
