It lists 1302 maps, fully annotated with 376 illustrated, many of them folding and colored. Published in San Francisco by the Institute of Historical Cartography. First edition limited to 1,000 copies. Vol. 1 - 264 pages.; Vol. II - 281 pages.; Vol. III - 349 pages.; Vol. IV - 260 pages.; Vol. V, Parts I & 2- 487 pages. Hardbound in gray cloth with green leatherette spines featuring the titles in gilt.
