This pictorial map of the rugged Lake Tahoe region was drawn by artist George Mathis, produced by Creative Lithograph in Oakland, and marketed by E.R. Smith. It is one of the few pictorial maps to orient the lake in a north-south orientation and names scores of local businesses and attractions along the shoreline including Harrah's Club, Heavenly Valley Ski Lift, Meeks Bay Resort, Silver Sands Resort, North Shore Club, and many more. Another unusual feature is the numerous soundings recorded in the lake, with the "Deepest Spot" noted at a staggering 1,645 feet deep. Surrounding the lake, the rugged topography is well-rendered with a three dimensional quality. The verso contains an additional black & white map of the lake with additional advertisements.
