This "brothel map" of the state was drawn by McGuinness and published by Hickory, Inc. on behalf of the Kit-Kat Ranch, one of Nevada's more famous brothels. It is printed in a style to mimic parchment and is surrounded by caricatures of mainly prospectors seeking out this "recreation unlimited." The illustrations are accompanied by humorous lines including "Psssst...! I just got robbed! -- but what a way to go..." and "Mildred? I got a flat out in the desert...I'm at a ranch getting it pumped up now!" The map itself shows counties, major roads, and the locates brothels in brown overprinting including the Kit-Kat Ranch, Silver Princess, Friendly Place, and Hacienda Club to name a few. Text at lower left describes it as an "Emergency Map of Nevada...A Housewife's Guide to Nevada's Wild Game Reserves."
Nevada is the only U.S. state where prostitution is legal, though it is only permitted in licensed brothels.
