This detailed folio covers the Niagara Falls region and was part of the Geological Survey's project to make a complete geological atlas of the United States. It includes three single-page maps (topography, areal geology, and surficial geology) and an attractive folding geological map (17.5 x 46") following the course of the Niagara River from Lewiston to beyond Niagara Falls. The folio also features a 26-page "Description of the Niagara Quadrangle" by E.M. Kindle and F.B. Taylor and 3 photographic plates. Produced under the direction of George Otis Smith. Elephant folio.
