This souvenir booklet was issued for riders of the Southern Pacific Lines' "Sunset Route" between El Paso and New Orleans. Of interest for pictorial map collectors, it includes a terrific rare double-page cartoon map of the route. Although it is unsigned, it is done in the style of Ruth Taylor White's "Gay Geography." The rest of the book features 20 photographic illustrations of various views along the way, with accompanying text on the opposite page. Among the views are Big Bend National Park, Judge Roy Bean's The Jersey Lilly, the Spanish Governors' Palace, the Texas Capitol, "Industrial Houston," and New Orleans. Copyright is attributed to the Smith-Brooks Printing Co. of Denver, Colorado. Blue stiff paper covers with a view of the Alamo pasted to the front cover.
