This promotional brochure map shows the grounds of the British Empire Exhibition held in Wembley Park, London, from April 23 to November 1, 1924. Designed by Kennedy North, the map's striking style falls somewhere between John Speed and MacDonald Gill. The grounds are laid out in a plan view with splashy pictorial flourishes. A strapwork cartouche at top left locates entrances, the conference hall, information kiosks, restaurants, various exhibits, and more. The map of the grounds is surrounded by interweaving transportation routes directing visitors to Wembley Park. It is further decorated by a large and ornate title cartouche with plenty of patriotic imagery, another strapwork cartouche with informative text, a message from Edward V, and a compass rose. Printed by Dobson, Molle, & Co. Self-folding. Verso features information on the exhibits.
