Beautiful map illustrates French Flanders in what is now southern Belgium and northern France. The map is centered on Lille and includes Le Bassee, Douay, Tournay and Courtray. This masterpiece of the engraver's art is notable for its elaborate heraldic decorative elements that fill three corners and finely engraved title and scale cartouches. French text on verso, published between 1643-50.

A superb impression with full contemporary color on a bright, watermarked sheet with a chip along the left edge of the sheet. There is a previous owner's stamp on verso that shows through a bit along the neatline at left.
