This charming map of southern Asia is based on Ptolemy and other ancient sources. Numerous small islands surround the huge island of Taprobana. India is severely truncated and the Malay Peninsula is oddly shaped. Beyond the Sinus Magnus lies an indefinite landmass labeled Sinae that stretches off the map in the east. Adorned with a nice title cartouche.
