This reference examines Mercator's influence in the Low Countries in lettering of maps, book production, and engraving. Foreword by R. A. Skelton. 64 illustrations. 209 pages. Hardbound in blue cloth boards with gilt title on the spine and decoration on front cover, with an illustrated dust jacket protected by Mylar. Condition: Contents and covers are tight with a bit of shelf wear to covers. Dust jacket is price clipped with minor soiling.

B. Mercator - The Man Who Mapped the Planet, by Nicholas Crane, published 2003 (5.5 x 8.3"). This well-reviewed biography covers the life of Gerard Mercator and his accomplishments to the world of science. 397 pages with a number of illustrations. Soft illustrated covers. Condition: Near fine.
