Railroads are shown in red overprinting with company lines named and stops identified. Rivers and lakes are shaded in a pale blue and mountain ranges are named but not illustrated given the remarkable amount of detail presented. Surrounding the map are a total of 14 inset maps featuring Boston, New York, the Adirondacks, Alaska, Hawaii, and Yellowstone National Park.
