This lot includes two pictorial maps by Frank Eaton that were issued in the June and July 1933 editions of The Stage. Both maps show the summer hot spots for theater mostly in the tri-state area, but also extending north to include Newport, Nantucket, Cape Cod, and Bar Harbor to name a few. Some of the humorous illustrations and captions include a "Barn Waiting to Become Summer Theater", "Broadway Producer Leaving Brookfield with Ideas", "Actors Paddling Their Own Canoe", and "Nothing Very Exciting in This Corner." Both feature inset maps of eastern New Jersey and eastern Pennsylvania, and the latter map includes a "legend" defining one star being equal to one summer theater. A note below the Revised map states "Since the June Stage was published, some twenty new summer theatres have announced plans. These are included in this revised and enlarged map." Overall, both versions demonstrate that even in the depths of the Great Depression summer stock theater was vibrant.

The maps, still bound into the magazine issues, are very clean and bright. Magazine text has a hint of pleasant light toning and the covers have light wear.
