This superb panoramic view overlooks New York Harbor from the vantage point of Washington Building by Battery Park. A group of well-dressed ladies and gentlemen stand on a balcony atop the Washington Building to view the Centennial Naval Parade, which was part of three days of festivities to commemorate the 100th anniversary of George Washington’s inauguration as the first President of the United States. Crowds of people are lined up in Battery Park to view the ships parading through the harbor. A key at top identifies important locations and naval ships, such as the Statue of Liberty, Castle Garden, Castle Williams on Governors Island, the U.S.S. "Chicago," and the U.S.S. "Despatch."
