This important map covers most of Mexico through the Gulf of Panama and includes parts of Cuba and Florida. It is finely engraved to show major cities, rivers, and lakes. The Spanish colonial audiencias are delineated with dotted lines. Engraved by Somer and embellished with a bold and elegant title cartouche.

Issued on watermarked paper with contemporary outline color in the map and later color in the decorative elements. There is a hint of toning along the centerfold and light dampstains that enter the image at bottom left and right. Lower side margins are heavily chipped and tattered. Other than the chips in the margins, the map is near fine.
