This map focuses on the region surrounding the major rivers in western Europe, including the Rhine, Meuse, Moselle, Saar and Scheldt Rivers. The map extends as far south as Orleans, France and Basel, Switzerland. The map is densely engraved with hundreds of tiny towns, and the river system is well detailed throughout. The decorative title cartouche features an angel and two coats of arms.

Contemporary outline color on a sturdy sheet with the watermark of a Maltese cross encircled in rosary beads. There is a hint of toning, a printer's crease at left, some extraneous creasing adjacent to the centerfold, and a tear that enters less than 1" into image at right that has been closed on verso with old paper.
