This handsome map of Provence by Willem and Johannes Blaeu is adorned with a decorative title cartouche and scale of miles, coats-of-arms, sailing ships, two compass roses, and rhumb lines. The cities of Nice, Cannes, St. Tropez, Aix, Avignon, d'Orange, Arles, Marseille, and the wine region of Chateauneuf du-Pape are included. The map is based on the cartography of Petro Joanne Bompario. French text on verso, published between 1643-50.
