A lovely map of ancient Italy that is based on the work of Nicolas Sanson and extends to include Corsica, Sardinia, and parts of Sicily and the Dalmatian Coast. The map is filled with ancient place names and is adorned with a large title cartouche featuring Cybele sitting on a celestial globe, four medallions, and three putti representing literature, the arts, and sciences.

A sharp impression on a bright, watermarked sheet, issued folding and now flattened with a hint of offsetting and professional repairs to several minor separations along the folds.
