This handsome map of Sicily is divided into three regions and includes detail of rivers, mountains, and cities with ancient place names, which are also listed in a table at top left. The road between Messina and Marsala is depicted, as is a flaming and smoking Mt. Etna. The inset map at bottom right focuses on the Gulf of Syracuse. The lovely title cartouche features Mt. Etna with smoke billowing from the top.

A crisp impression with full contemporary color on a bright sheet with a hint of toning along the centerfold and edges of the sheet. There is a horizontal fold in the bottom margin, well away from the image.
