This map focuses on the Middle Eastern regions surrounding the eastern Mediterranean and the western Red Sea. A large compass rose at bottom right orients north to the top right. The map is filled with three-dimensional mountains and miniature vignettes of people and animals, including two snakes chasing a Pegasus-like creature in Egypt. Two ships in the Mediterranean represent St. Hilarion's ship escaping a pirate ship. The allegorical title cartouche features Pan, a Centaur, and other mythical creatures.
