An attractive map of India and the border region of the Gulf of Bengal. It features excellent detail of place names, rivers and topography, with the region to the west of Lake Chilea noted as "Pays Inconnu" (Parts Unknown). Surrounded in a baroque style border that was printed from a separate copper plate.

A crisp impression on watermarked paper with contemporary color. There is toning along the sheet edges and a tiny repaired centerfold separation at top.
