This atlas was created for young military aide-de-camps to train them on all aspects of their role. It is comprised of a 30-page introduction and 55 engraved plates. The plates include illustrations of basic military terms and fortification structures, as well as fortification plans of European cities. The cities represented are those that were sites of battles or encampments during the War of Austrian Succession and at the beginning of the Seven Years' War. Included are Prague, Hanover, Dusseldorf, Linz, and Wesel, among others. Oblong. Hardbound in full leather with embossing and red leather title label on spine.
