This American Airlines map presents the company's network in red overprinting with connecting routes in black. Though dated 1955, the map shows a non-stop route from Los Angeles to New York which did not occur until 1959. The map's border names 52 cities served by American, and served as a playing board for five different games developed by Milton-Bradley. Directions for two of the games are presented as elements in the map (compass rose and decorative scroll) while the other three games are explained at bottom. All involve moving small airplanes (found on the back of Cheerios boxes) along the border to various destinations. The verso contains a sixth game with its own board along with facts about American Airlines and "Radio's Big Part in Guiding Today's Airlines."
