This intricate and entertaining map of the United States was drawn by Sergio Aragones and issued in Mad Magazine. Each state is filled with illustrations demonstrating its history, culture, natural features and points of interest with slapstick humor typical for the magazine. A few highlights that caught this catalogers eye include: the First Flight in North Carolina watching over a space launch at Cape Canaveral; two different "cattle drives" in Oklahoma; an oil derrick gushing onto an unsuspecting bull in Texas; the Golden Spike ceremony in Utah; and surfing in California. Illustrations in the sheet corners depict some of the essential services in the country including a garbage collector, meter maid, postman, and firefighter. On verso is an equally detailed map covering Alaska, Hawaii, and the cities of Los Angeles and New York. Copyrighted by E.C. Publications Inc.
