This pictorial map was published by the General Drafting Co. to commemorate the 200th anniversary of George Washington's birth. It spans from Savannah, Georgia ("Washington's Headquarters during Southern Tour") north to Lake Erie and part of New York. Throughout the map, small illustrations and text note locations of interest from Washington's life, including Mount Vernon, the crossing of the Delaware, battle sites, and more. Various routes that he took through the region during his military and political career are delineated. Three smaller maps are included on verso: Mount Vernon Memorial Highway (12.6 x 8.4"); Landmarks of George Washington's Life in Philadelphia and Vicinity (6.0 x 7.4"); and The Shrines of George Washington In and Around the City of New York (6.0 x 7.3"). Self-folds into illustrated pamphlet covers showing Washington bundling up at Valley Forge, taking the oath as president, and working as a surveyor.
