This colorful and detailed map by F.L. Blaisdell presents the state’s network of railroads along with a panel at right listing individual lines totaling over 5,300 of track. The map was produced for the Railroad Commission with “Railroad Commission Map of Arkansas, 1915” the alternate title, at the top of the map. In addition to railroads, the map delineates counties, townships, and natural gas pipelines. An inset map shows Congressional districts and normal annual temperatures. Frances Lillian Blaisdell was Arkansas’ first female cartographer and one the first female cartographers in the United States. For a brief biography, click here. There are no past sales records and only two institutional examples located on OCLC.
