This folding map was issued by the Wm. H. Hoegee Co. of Los Angeles, a noted seller of sporting goods. The verso contains a highway map extending from San Francisco south to Los Angeles and east to the Nevada border showing both automobile roads and wagon roads. Mileages for various routes flank the map at right. On verso is a highway map of Southern California with a key locating good roads, wagon roads, gas stations, trails, and the El Camino Real. Surrounding the verso map are five illustrations of the company’s products, all of which are interestingly shown being used by women, including a camera with the note that “no outing trip is complete without a camera.” Copyrighted by Albert Thurston and issued on his distinctive yellow paper. No examples located on OCLC.
