This elegant and striking pictorial map of Mendocino County was drawn by San Francisco-based designer and muralist Don Clever (1916-2001). It depicts the county's natural resources, wildlife, and recreation in a modern, minimalist style. Among the sights are redwood groves, Paul Bunyan, the fire lookout on Mt. Sanhedrin, and the annual rodeo. Text below the map describes the "frontier county" with statistical information and dates for festivals. Self-folds into a tourist brouchure with more abstract illustrations and black & white photographs on verso. Published by the Mendocino County Chamber of Commerce.
